' Creativity' according to Collins English Dictionary is " characterized by originality of thought; having or showing imagination. In my opinion, "creativity is the true expression of indepth knowledge, feelings and the discovery of potentials." A person who uses the mind creatively, is a great thinker.
A thinker is a person who spends a lot of time thinking creatively and deeply about vital things. Everyone is a thinker but it takes only a good thinker to think right, creatively and wisely. When you think in the right direction, success is attained. Good thinking is tasking because if it were very easy, everyone would be a good thinker.
Thinkers think and man is the only being that thinks. In order to achieve this, you must be a reader. This is because every great thinkers are great readers. Even the Holy Book emphasized on the importance of studying in 2 Timothy 2:15a " Study to show yourself approved into God".
Never stop learning. Learning increases your thinking capacity. Based on this thrust, David Schwartz asserted that; "Where success is concerned, people are not measured in inches, or pounds, or college degrees, or family background; they are measured by the size of their thinking." Expose yourself continually to people with great minds. Be around creative people, study things about great thinkers and be in the company of great minds. Never be among low self-esteem and poor thinking people if you want to be creative.
The writer of Proverbs observed that sharp people sharpens one another,just as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Thus, if you intend to be a great thinker or creative in life, always be around sharp, creative and great thinkers. Some of the creative thinkers whose works and inventions have contributed to the body of knowledge over time includes, Albert Einstein ( 1879-1935), Leonardo da Vinci ( 1452-1519), Nikola Tesla ( 1855-1943), Marie Curie ( 1867-1943), Isaac Newton ( 1643-1727), Alan Turing ( 1912-1954) to mention but a few.
In the words of Nikola Tesla,"Intelligent people tend to have less friends than the average person. The smarter you are, the more selective you become". Sometimes, some people are not necessarily good for you. Some distractions are not needed in your thinking faculty. In order to become an achiever of great things, you need all the thinking 'pieces' you can get.
Great thinkers are great because of their wealth of knowledge and wisdom. They possess a different perspective and ideology about the world and life especially, the human race. We have great thinkers such as Plato, Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, Rene Descartes, Confucius,Max Weber, Niccolo Machiavelli, Friedrich Nictzsche, Sigmund Freud, etc. If they can achieve it, you are not an exception.
A great thinker Ralph Waldo Emerson ascertained that, " concentration is the secret of strength in politics, in war, in trade, in short in all management of human affairs". Hence, remain focus, avoid distractions,create adequate time for thinking, decide on what matters most in your life and focus on it. Creativity and success is attainable. It's never too late. You can start now.
